Steeped in tradition and defined by its historic town center, Sherwood features a population of a little more than 18,000 residents and is full of antique shops and historic buildings. A virtual snapshot of small-town living from another era, the area is perhaps most famous for its annual car show and Robin Hood Festival.
 
Located in the Chehalem Mountain American Viticultural Area (AVA), Sherwood is one of the fastest-growing wine destinations in the northern Willamette Valley, with seven (and counting) vineyard-estate wineries. There’s a year-round Christmas shop here too, plus some roadside farm stores and a national wildlife refuge.
 
Just minutes from Portland, this charming oasis offers lots of bucolic beauty.

Dining, Entertainment, and Shopping

Residents and visitors alike frequent Sherwood’s Old Town, a charming Main Street destination that hosts a weekly farmers market weekly and is home to popular eateries like Fat Milo’s Family Kitchen, Hungry Hero, and Clancy’s.
 
At Langer’s Entertainment Center, families gather for the arcade, bowling alley, rock wall, and restaurant. Sleighbells of Sherwood, open from July 1 to December 23, is where residents purchase all of their Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas goodies.
 
Sherwood is home to many estate wineries, each of which produces various red and white wines. Some of the most popular stops on the wine trail include Ponzi Vineyards‘ tasting room, Hawks View Cellars, which features award-winning Pinot Noir and Syrah varietals, and Alloro Vineyard, an artisan winery dedicated to creating handcrafted Pinot Noir on a low-yield, sustainable, 78-acre estate vineyard.
 

Things to Do

Sherwood Robin Hood Festival, hosted for well over half a century, this annual summer event features live entertainment on two stages, medieval reenactments, Maid Marian's Court, Robin Hood and his Merry Men, a popular community parade, a knighting ceremony, a castle building contest, and a teen dance, plus food, a beer and wine garden and more.
 
Cruisin’ Sherwood, started 29 years ago as a “Show and Shine” for local car owners by the popular Clancy’s Pub and Restaurant, this event is now the largest in Sherwood, Oregon, boosting the cities’ economy and visibility. Featuring as many as 500+ hot rods, classics, collector cars, and customs, all proudly glowing in the sun of Sherwood’s classic Old Town, this family event also has dozens of unique vendors and a great food scene.
 
Woodhaven City Park, nestled near a quiet tree-filled community, this park offers a playground structure, sand play area, and covered picnic shelter.
 
Stella Olsen Memorial Park, built in 2015, this park is home to an amphitheater, which hosts Music on the Green and many other community events.
